Getting Here
By Car
The opera is located seven miles north of the Santa Fe Plaza on the west side of US Highway 84/285.
Northbound from Santa Fe or Albuquerque:
- Travel north on US 84/285 to Exit 168: “Tesuque Village/Opera Drive/Ave Monte Sereno.”
- Turn left at the end of the exit ramp.
- Turn right onto the frontage road (“Opera Drive”) and travel 1.4 miles to the opera entrance.
Southbound from Taos, Los Alamos or Española:
- Travel south on US 84/285 to Exit 168: “Tesuque Village/Opera Drive/Ave Monte Sereno.”
- Turn right at the end of the exit ramp.
- Turn right onto the frontage road (“Opera Drive”) and travel 1.4 miles to the opera entrance.
Shuttles
Book a comfortable round-trip ride from several pick-up locations in Santa Fe. The early shuttle arrives in time to attend our Preview Dinner or the first Prelude Talk. The late shuttle arrives 30 minutes prior to your performance.
Shuttle tickets must be purchased by 3 pm the day before; they may sell out earlier. Once booked, no ticket is required to board our shuttle; your name will be on the driver’s manifest.
Rideshare
There is no public transportation to the opera grounds. Rideshare options are limited and may be unavailable post-performance.
Parking Lot Info & Policies
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to the performance to avoid traffic congestion.
- The parking lot is available starting 3 hours before the performance time.
- Parking is free as is a shuttle between the lower parking lot and the theater entrance.
- General parking spaces are on a first-come, first-served basis. Special parking spaces are reserved as a benefit of certain donor levels.
- For the safety of all, everyone must follow the instructions of the Parking Crew.
- No pets are allowed.
- Vehicle alarms which activate during a performance will be disconnected.
- Picnic tables adjacent to the parking lots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Please be considerate of others waiting to use the picnic facilities. Patrons are encouraged to share tables.
- Most tailgate setups are accommodated directly in front or back of your vehicle.
- Parties with more than one vehicle must arrive together. No parking spaces may be saved.
- Tailgate setups must allow for emergency vehicle access in all rows of the parking lot.
- All tailgate attendees must be ticketed for that evening’s performance.
- No electrical service is available and electric generators are not permitted.
- No charcoal fires are allowed.
- Firearms are not allowed on the premises. Pursuant to New Mexico Law Sec 30-7-3 (A). Open or concealed carrying of a firearm, either loaded or unloaded, onto these premises is strictly prohibited. Any person carrying a firearm is guilty of a fourth-degree felony.
