Introducing New Video Series “Conversations In Quarantine”
The Santa Fe Opera’s new video series Conversations in Quarantine creates a space for intimate conversations with Santa Fe Opera artists in quarantine around the world. We find out how they are, where they are, and what they are doing to keep creatively inspired during the COVID-19 crisis.
Our first conversation features Tristan und Isolde Director Zack Winokur and Santa Fe Opera Dramaturg, Teacher, and Opera Scholar, Cori Ellison. In addition to being a company premiere, Wagner’s epic Tristan und Isolde marks Zack’s directorial debut with the Santa Fe Opera. Zack is also a choreographer; his choreography work was last seen on the Santa Fe stage in Lucia di Lammermoor in our 2017 Season.
The second episode of Conversations in Quarantine features American Tenor Jack Swanson and Santa Fe Opera Dramaturg, Teacher and Opera Scholar Cori Ellison. Jack is a former Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Singer and was last seen on the Santa Fe Opera stage as Lindoro in our 2018 production of The Italian Girl in Algiers. We are hopeful to see and hear Jack again this summer as Count Almaviva in a new production of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.
Future episodes of Conversations in Quarantine will include soprano Joélle Harvey (The Magic Flute), composer Huang Ruo (M. Butterfly) and many more artists scheduled to perform in the 2020 Season.
