Prelude Talks
These lively and informative talks are offered in Stieren Orchestra Hall twice before most performances. The first talk begins two hours before the performance and the second is one hour before. Prelude Talks begin Wednesday, July 3, 2013, and are free to ticket holders. For best availability, we suggest the first one. Prelude Talks are not offered on Opening Weekend (June 28 and 29) Apprentice Scenes performance evenings (August 11 and 18).

Special Event Opportunities
The Santa Fe Opera has a celebration for every season! Ring in the new year and make merry behind-the-scenes during our annual Holiday Party in December. Join us in celebration of the Opening of the 2013 Season with four days of revelry at the Opening Weekend Celebration in July. Dine and dance at a black-tie Gala in August. Meet the creative teams behind each production while you dine in style at an Opening Night Dinner throughout the Summer. Join us for these festivities and help funds in support of our Apprentice, Education, and Community Programs.
Backstage Tours
Go behind the scenes and learn about the fascinating and colorful world of opera production. One-hour tours are given Monday through Friday at 9 am, starting June 3, 2013, through August 23, 2013. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors, and children (ages 6-22) are free. Tours start at the box office. No reservations are needed; tickets are sold at the start of the tour.
NOTE: The Guilds of The Santa Fe Opera will sponsor Opera Insiders Days, with free backstage tours, every Saturday in June, July, and August (excluding August 31). Entertainment and refreshments are offered on the theater patio at 8:30 am, followed by an informational talk by an opera insider and a backstage tour. Opera Insider Days are free of charge.
RANCH TOURS
An extended tour of the grounds, known as the "Opera Ranch," is offered at 10 am on the fourth Fridays of June, July and August (June 28, July 26, and August 23, 2013) with a "Meet the Artist" component. No reservations are necessary for this tour, and tickets may be purchased at the Box Office beginning at 8:45 am the morning of the tours. The tour is $12 - if combined with a Backstage Tour, the cost is $20.
Opera Shop
During the Festival Season, the Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm, as well as an hour and a half prior to each performance, during intermissions, and post-performance. A wide variety of items in all price ranges is available. If you are visiting Santa Fe during the Opera's off-season you may make an appointment to visit the store by calling 505-986-5949.
