Department: Education and Community Programs
The position supports the execution of strategies to broaden involvement, as well as public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the mission of The Santa Fe Opera, through community partnerships and programming.
The assistant will provide support for projects and activities, including but not limited to administrative, accounting, payroll, clerical and production efforts; will maintain continuity for the department by monitoring schedules and activities of other department staff; and effectively communicating and interfacing with other departments of the Opera; and will perform data base entry.
The position is part time, year round. The typical work week will be approximately 20 hours, however during peak activities, this schedule may vary. Therefore, the position requires some flexibility.
The qualified candidate will have a combination of education and experience in the performing arts and specifically in the field of administration. Evidence of qualification would be an associate's degree in one of the performing arts, or in business administration, or two years of work experience in a general administrative position, the public schools, or community work.
Microsoft office skills are required.
