Gala Opening Celebration

The 2010 Gala Opening Celebration was a smashing success! Please check back soon for delicious details about the 2011 Opening Gala Celebration.
Each year the Gala Opening Celebration and Auction is a fun, festive way to celebrate the opening of the Opera’s Festival Season. It's a time to renew old friendships and forge new ones; a chance to dine and dance far into the night and discover historic hidden areas of Santa Fe over dinner in a private home. You'll meet some of today's finest performers in a relaxed and gracious setting. Plus of course, have an opportunity to take in two unforgettable evenings of opera under the starlit skies of Santa Fe.
This year's Opening Celebration kicked off at Encantado Resort on Thursday, July 1, beginning with cocktails followed by a fabulous feast, complete with apprentices singing party songs and dancing in the courtyard.
On Friday, July 2, gracious hosts served dinner in their wonderful Santa Fe homes and then attendees were off to the Theatre for the opening night of Puccini’s long-loved Madame Butterfly.
On Saturday, July 3 attendees feasted upon a unique “Insider’s Lunch” , in the Opera’s Scene Shop. That evening they raised a glass by the pool with the production's Creative Team, Production Underwriters and other Gala attendees before dinner was served at the Dapples Cantina. The opening performance of Mozart's incomparable The Magic Flute tied a bow on this magical day.
A finale brunch among secret sculpture gardens at Nedra Matteucci Galleries occured on Sunday, July 4 allowing folks to meet artists of the season, swap stories of Gala adventures with newfound friends, and plan many happy returns in 2011!
