Concerts & Performances

Spring Tour

Community Concerts & PerformancesEach year The Santa Fe Opera takes its act on the road! This spring, our singers toured cities in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, offering free performances for school children along with free public concerts in Albuquerque, Farmington, Las Cruces, Lubbock, TX, Pagosa Springs, CO, Moriarty, Rio Rancho, Socorro, and Truth or Consequences. An average of 12,000 audience members enjoyed the Spring Tour.

This spring's performance included a delightful new work, titled True North, which explores the relationship of the young singers whose characters were featured in Written in the Stars and Avastar, the original operas performed on tour in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Former Santa Fe Opera apprentices, soprano Abigail Mitchell, soprano Rachel Hall, tenor Joshua Dennis, and baritone Andrew Lovato were the featured singers.

Community Concerts

The Opera's Community Concerts are free and held in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and neighboring communities during the winter and summer. Each performance features talented Santa Fe Opera artists performing a wide-ranging repertory of arias, songs of the season, musical theater selections, and sacred music.
