    Prelude Talks

    Overview - splash photoThese lively and informative talks are offered in Stieren Orchestra Hall twice before most performances. The first talk begins two hours before the performance and the second is one hour before. Prelude Talks begin Saturday, July 4, 2015, and are free to ticket holders. For best availability, we suggest the first one. Prelude Talks are not offered on July 3 and during Apprentice Scenes performance evenings (August 16 and 23). Lecturer is Oliver Prezant.

    Backstage Tours

    Backstage Tours - splash photoGo behind the scenes and learn about the fascinating and colorful world of opera production. One-hour tours are given Monday through Friday at 9 am, starting June 1, 2015, through August 28, 2015. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for seniors, and children (ages 6-22) are free. Tours start at the box office. No reservations are needed; tickets are sold at the start of the tour.

    NOTE: The Guilds of The Santa Fe Opera will sponsor Opera Insiders Days, with free backstage tours, starting June 6, 2015, and then every Saturday in June, July, and August. Entertainment and refreshments are offered on the theater patio at 8:15 am, followed by an informational talk by an opera insider and a backstage tour. Opera Insider Days are free of charge.


    Cantina GardenAn extended tour of the grounds, known as the "Opera Ranch," is offered at 10 am on the last Friday of June, July and August 2015 with a "Meet the Artist" component. No reservations are necessary for this tour, and tickets may be purchased at the Box Office beginning at 8:45 am the morning of the tours. The tour is $10 - if combined with a Backstage Tour, the cost is $20. 

    Opera Shop

    Opera Shop Diva NM License PlateDuring the Festival Season, the Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm, as well as an hour and a half prior to each performance, during intermissions, and post-performance. A wide variety of items in all price ranges is available. If you are visiting Santa Fe during the Opera's off-season you may make an appointment to visit the store by calling 505-986-5949.
