At 7,000 feet elevation and with more than 300 days of sunshine each year, Santa Fe offers a climate that is enjoyable year-round. The summer brings a combination of bright sun, low humidity, and virtually no mosquitos! The weather is ideal for hiking, a stroll around the Plaza or up Canyon Road, white-water rafting, bicycling, and many other outdoor activities. Dramatic afternoon or evening thunderstorms sometimes occur, but they are usually short-lived. While the average high temperature during July and August is 90 degrees, the evening brings a rapid cooling to the upper 50s.
