OSCAR FILM SERIES
It's always Oscar season...Oscar Wilde season. Celebrate the world premiere of Theodore Morrison's Oscar — a highlight of the Santa Fe Opera's 2013 summer season — with a series of films inspired by Wilde's most beloved works at Santa Fe's CCA.

Saturday mornings in Albuquerque at the Albuquerque Museum, 2000 Mountain Rd NW, (May 4, 11, 18, 25) and in Santa Fe at Collected Works Bookstore, 202 Galisteo, (June 1, 8, 15, 22), from 10-11:30am. Each Saturday morning talk will focus on an important theme in opera and will include previews of productions from our 2013 Season. Pick and choose, or come for the whole series. Admission is FREE.
First Saturday: Gateway to Romanticism (Rossini's La Donna del Lago)
Second Saturday: The Music of Character (Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro)
Third Saturday: Isn't it Grand? (Offenbach's The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein)
Fourth Saturday: Opera as Biography (Verdi's La Traviata and Theo Morrison's Oscar)
Oliver Prezant is a popular lecturer for the Santa Fe Opera, the Music Director of the Santa Fe Community Orchestra, and the Artistic Advisor to the ArtWorks program, which provides arts education programs for public school students and teachers. His unique presentations have helped thousands of music lovers deepen their enjoyment and understanding of music.
Prelude talks
Lively and informative talks are offered in Stieren Orchestra Hall twice before most performances. The first talk is given two hours before the performance and the second is one hour before. Prelude Talks are free to ticket holders. For best availability, we suggest the first talk. Prelude Talks are not offered Opening Weekend or on Apprentice Scenes performance evenings. The Santa Fe Opera Seminar
The Opera is offering two sessions, led by Dr. Mary Kime, which will be conducted on The Santa Fe Opera campus. Lodging in downtown Santa Fe with transportation provided to-and-from class sessions. Season Preview Radio Broadcasts
Classical KHFM
The Opera has a series of programming on Classical KHFM (95.5 in central New Mexico or 102.9 for the northern region). Each program includes musical selections and behind-the-scenes stories on productions. The broadcasts may be heard anywhere in the country through live streaming audio at www.ClassicalKHFM.com.
